Best housing society in Lahore for living, judged on approval, possession, utilities and commute: DHA scores highest on our evidence. 5 marla rents and gaps.
AI Summary
For a family living there, DHA Lahore's established phases have the strongest evidence of the 13 Lahore societies we score: 23 out of 30 for legal status, possession and utilities combined, with SNGPL gas in Phases 1-4 and 6-8. DHA Rahbar and DHA 9 Town follow on 21. Bahria Town is long lived in but its power runs through a bulk LESCO connection that was cut for a day in November 2025. Zameen's 5 marla house rents ran from about Rs 59,625 to Rs 1.32 lakh a month.
For a family that will live there, the best housing society in Lahore for living is approved, already built up, on proper utility connections and a sane commute away. On those tests our evidence most supports DHA Lahore’s established phases: 23 out of 30 for legal status, possession and utilities combined, the highest of the 13 Lahore societies we score. DHA Rahbar and DHA 9 Town follow on 21, though no society scores well on everything.
Possession means the handover of a developed plot you can build on. Our scores run from 0 to 10 and follow our published methodology.
These are the checks that matter when you will live in the house, not resell the plot:
All approval notes are as of 14 Oct 2026 unless marked. Scores are legal / possession / utilities / location, each out of 10; “n/s” means we don’t have enough evidence to score it.

We don’t rank societies beyond these scores. Each linked review explains its scores and adds price, developer and resale scores.
DHA approves its own plans under its 2002 law, and its established phases are the only ones where an SNGPL notice (September 2026) shows houses on piped gas. DHA also charges an annual non-utilisation fee on unbuilt plots (Rs 75,000 up to 10 marla in most phases, October 2024), which pushes owners to build.
Bahria Town and Central Park are long lived in and each has a medical college inside. But on 27 Nov 2025 LESCO cut power to Bahria Town, Bahria Orchard and two other Bahria projects over Rs682 million unpaid on four bulk connections; a resident said his home had no power or warm water. Power was restored the next day.
Lake City, Etihad Town, Al Kabir Town and Park View City are lived in, but we found no dated, independent source on how gas, power or water reach the houses. That is a gap in the evidence, not proof that supply is poor.
These are plot prices, before you build. Zameen’s price indexes put 5 marla plots lowest in Bahria Orchard (Rs 48 lakh, Aug 2026) and Bahria Nasheman (Rs 51.2 lakh, Sep 2026). Both are lived in, but Orchard’s later phases are on LDA’s illegal list and Nasheman is only technically approved.
Central Park (Rs 64.8 lakh, Sep 2026) and Park View City (Rs 63.5 lakh, Aug 2026) cost a little more. Central Park has a hospital inside and three LDA-listed phases; Park View City flooded in August 2025 and has only RUDA provisional acceptance.
For stronger approval and lived-in sectors, Bahria Town (Rs 79.5 lakh, Aug 2026) and DHA Rahbar (Rs 87.8 lakh, Sep 2026) cost more. The DHA all-phase index was Rs 1.1 crore in September 2026. To check any other scheme before you buy, see LDA’s approved and illegal lists.
These are Zameen’s average monthly rents for a 5 marla house. They are asking rents from listings, and the most recent month published.
| Society | 5 marla house rent per month | Month |
|---|---|---|
| Etihad Town | Rs 1.32 lakh | Aug 2026 |
| DHA (all phases) | Rs 1.22 lakh | Sep 2026 |
| DHA 9 Town | Rs 1.22 lakh | Sep 2026 |
| Lake City | Rs 1.13 lakh | Sep 2026 |
| DHA Rahbar | Rs 1.06 lakh | Sep 2026 |
| Bahria Town | Rs 94,500 | Sep 2026 |
| Al Kabir Town | Rs 93,375 | Sep 2026 |
| Park View City | Rs 90,000 | Sep 2026 |
| Central Park | Rs 76,314 | Sep 2026 |
| Bahria Orchard | Rs 74,250 | Sep 2026 |
| Bahria Nasheman | Rs 59,625 | Sep 2026 |
Zameen publishes no house rent index for LDA City, and LDA Avenue’s 5 marla index falls back to all sizes, so we leave both out. A high rent tells you people want to live there; it doesn’t confirm the utilities.
As a tenant, put the terms in a written rent agreement and register the tenancy with Punjab Police.
Park View City, Etihad Town Phase I and LDA Avenue-I are the closest, about 6 to 11 km by road from Thokar Niaz Baig. DHA’s established phases are about 15 minutes from the airport, and DHA Rahbar is about 13 km from Thokar.
Bahria Town, Lake City and Al Kabir Town are about 17 km from Thokar. Bahria Orchard (25 km from Thokar), Bahria Nasheman (25 km from Kalma Chowk) and LDA City (28 km from Thokar) are the furthest out.
Two newer links serve Raiwind Road. Ring Road SL-3, from Adda Plot on Raiwind Road to Maraka on Multan Road, opened on 16 February 2024. An electric bus from Raiwind to Thokar Niaz Baig opened about 3 October 2025, with a Rs 20 fare.
We found no society-level crime statistics for any Lahore society. We also found no current, reliable source on monthly maintenance or security charges, so neither safety nor running costs is part of this comparison.
If you are buying to hold rather than to live in, the trade-offs differ: see the best housing society in Lahore for investment.

On the evidence we can source, DHA Lahore's established phases lead: approved by a statutory authority, built up, on SNGPL gas, with National Hospital and LUMS inside DHA. Bahria Town and Central Park are long lived in with hospitals inside, but Bahria's power runs through a bulk LESCO connection and Central Park's gas and water lack independent evidence.
Check the exact phase on LDA's approved or illegal lists (or with DHA or RUDA), and whether gas, water and electricity come on your own meters or through the developer's bulk connection. Also check whether the houses around you are lived in, and the area's flood history.
We found no society-level crime data for any Lahore society, so no source can rank them by safety. Treat any "safest society" claim as marketing until someone publishes the numbers.
Zameen's September 2026 indexes put 5 marla house rents at about Rs 1.22 lakh a month in DHA, Rs 1.13 lakh in Lake City, Rs 94,500 in Bahria Town and Rs 76,314 in Central Park. LDA City has no house rent index yet.
Older blocks are lived in, but Dawn reported 1,500 to 2,000 houses flooded in August 2025 when the Ravi rose. RUDA had granted the scheme only provisional acceptance as of 7 October 2026.
