Not one that does what most people want. Wise says you can “register and send money with Wise from most countries”, and Pakistan is not on its list of countries where Wise doesn’t operate. But three things are closed to anyone who lives in Pakistan:
We couldn’t find a Wise page that says whether a Pakistan resident can register and send money abroad, for example with a foreign card. So we don’t list that as an option.
Yes. This is the part that works. The money goes to a local bank account, and the person in Pakistan doesn’t need a Wise account.
What the sender needs, from Wise’s guide to rupee transfers:
Wise’s guide lists only bank accounts as destinations. It doesn’t mention JazzCash or Easypaisa wallets or cash pickup.
You can’t put rupees into Wise from a Pakistani bank. Wise’s rupee guide says you can send from rupees only if you already hold them in Wise, converted from another currency. Its currency list still shows rupees as “send to” only, so treat Wise as a way into Pakistan, not out.
The fee depends on the currency and how the sender pays. These are Wise’s own fees for sending 1,000 to a Pakistani bank account, taken from the data behind Wise’s fee calculator on 10 October 2026:
| Sending 1,000 | Paid by bank transfer | Paid by debit card | Paid by credit card |
|---|---|---|---|
| British pounds | £6.60 | £9.73 | £28.60 (Visa) |
| Euros | €8.18 | €11.71 to €15.99 | up to €21.97 |
| US dollars | $8.36 (direct debit) or $12.75 | $18.87 | $58.55 to $67.59 |
| UAE dirhams | AED 18.02 | AED 46.15 | not checked |
| Saudi riyals | SAR 14.76 | not checked | not checked |
| Canadian dollars | CAD 9.37 | CAD 20.34 | not checked |
Paying by bank transfer is the cheapest in every currency we checked. A credit card costs several times as much: £28.60 against £6.60 for pounds. Wise says it uses the mid-market exchange rate and shows its fee upfront.
Not always. Wise publishes a comparison of providers. On its own data, collected on 9 and 10 October 2026, Wise was not the one that delivered the most rupees:
| Sending 500 | Most rupees delivered | Wise | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| British pounds | Rs 184,108 (MoneyGram) | Rs 181,968 | Rs 2,140 |
| US dollars | Rs 138,555 (Remitly) | Rs 135,734 | Rs 2,821 |
| Euros | Rs 155,288 (MoneyGram) | Rs 153,690 | Rs 1,598 |
For 500 dollars, Remitly, WorldRemit, Western Union and Instarem all delivered more than Wise. For 500 pounds, Wise also came behind Remitly, WorldRemit, Western Union and Instarem. These quotes change daily, and some may be first-transfer offers. Before each transfer, the sender should check the rupee amount the recipient gets, not the fee alone.
SBP also ended the Sohni Dharti Remittance Program, which rewarded overseas Pakistanis for using formal channels, Business Recorder reported on 9 July 2026. Workers’ remittances reached USD 41.6 billion in the year to June 2026, up 9%, according to SBP data in the same report.
Only if the client has a Wise account and sends you rupees to your personal IBAN. You can’t give a US client Wise account details, because Wise doesn’t issue USD details to Pakistani addresses. You also can’t keep the money in dollars, because Pakistan residents can’t hold a Wise balance.
We couldn’t confirm whether your bank treats a Wise payment as an export receipt or as an ordinary local transfer. That matters for the dollar retention and tax rules below, so ask your bank before you rely on Wise for client income.

Not one you can hold money in. As of October 2026, Pakistan is not on Wise's list of countries where you can hold money, Wise doesn't give USD account details to people with a Pakistani address, and it doesn't issue its card in Pakistan.
Yes, if the sender is abroad. They send rupees to your personal Pakistani bank account using your full name and 24-character IBAN. Once Wise has converted the money, it usually arrives the same day.
Wise doesn't issue its card to people who live in Pakistan. A Wise card issued in another country can be used in most places that accept debit cards, Wise says.
They do different jobs. Payoneer lets you receive dollars from clients and withdraw rupees to a Pakistani bank. Wise only helps if your client has a Wise account and sends you rupees.
No. Wise sends rupees only to personal bank accounts, and the recipient must be a private individual.
