AI Summary

Faysal Bank has been a fully Islamic bank since its December 2022 licence, so its savings accounts share profit instead of paying a fixed rate. Its main savings accounts paid 6.37% for July 2026, against the 10% minimum at conventional banks. The January to June 2026 schedule shows no minimum balance on its listed accounts. The Asaan Digital Current Account opens with a CNIC, holds up to Rs 3 million and allows Rs 1 million of debits a month.

The Faysal Bank account to open depends on whether you want profit and how much paperwork you have. Every Faysal Bank account is Islamic: its main savings accounts shared out 6.37% for July 2026, and the profit changes every month. Current accounts pay no profit. Faysal Bank’s January to June 2026 schedule shows no minimum balance on any listed account. With only a CNIC, the Asaan Digital Current Account opens in the Burraq app and holds up to Rs 3 million.

Faysal Bank savings profit, July 2026

6.37% a year

Faysal Islami Saving, Barkat Saving, Asaan Saving, Amal Women Saving, Muntazim, Life Plus and Digital Saving accounts. Declared on 4 August 2026; Islamic profit changes every month.

Is Faysal Bank an Islamic bank?

Yes. The State Bank gave Faysal Bank an Islamic banking licence in December 2022, once all its branches had converted. Profit reported 639 branches at the time; the State Bank counted 900 Faysal Bank branches, including sub-branches, by 30 June 2026, second only to Meezan’s 1,150 among Islamic banks.

This changes how its savings work. Conventional banks must pay individuals at least 10% on savings up to Rs 1 crore (as of September 2026). Islamic savings aren’t under that rule. Faysal Bank invests deposits as Mudarabah and splits the pool’s profit 50:50 with depositors, then declares the rate after the month ends. For the trade-offs, see Islamic vs conventional banking and Meezan Bank vs other banks.

These match the State Bank’s limits for every bank’s Asaan account. It’s a Qard account, so your money is repayable on demand but earns no profit, and no zakat is deducted. New-to-bank customers get the PayPak card and SMS alerts free for the first year. The bank pitches it at daily wage earners, students and homemakers. See Asaan account.
