How do I check my Islamabad e-challan by vehicle number?
The Islamabad Police home page links “E-Challan Verification” to the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) page at traffic.islamabadpolice.gov.pk/Echallan. The steps below follow that page as of 24 October 2026.
Open islamabadpolice.gov.pk and click E-Challan Verification. Don’t use a link from a text message.
Choose how to search: Vehicle Number or Ticket ID.
Type the number without dashes, as the page asks. It also asks for your CNIC without dashes.
Enter the captcha and press Verify Challan.
Read the results. Each row shows the challan date, ticket number, PSID, amount, status, vehicle, zone and payment date, with totals of paid and unpaid challans.
The page says traffic violations “are issued electronically via the e-Challan system” and gives 051-9001541 for queries.
Can I check an Islamabad e-challan with a picture?
Not on the official page. Its results table has no photo column as of October 2026: you see the date, ticket, PSID, amount and status only.
If you think a challan is wrong, call 051-9001541 or 1915 and ask what evidence the challan is based on. Have the ticket ID ready.
How do I pay an Islamabad e-challan?
ITP lists e-challans among its online services, for “issuance, tracking and online payment”. Each challan on the verification page carries a PSID, the payment slip ID you pay through a bank app or wallet. See PSID challan for how a PSID payment works.
In August 2026 ITP told drivers to pay only through authorised banking apps, using the official consumer ID, and never through a link in a text message (PakWheels). In 2023, police said challans could be paid through the JazzCash app or the JS Bank wallet (APP). We couldn’t confirm which banks and wallets list ITP challans today, so check the PSID in your own bank app’s bill payment section.

For a car, The Nation gave the mobile phone fine as Rs 2,000, against Dawn’s Rs 1,500. We show Dawn’s figure because its list is fuller. Islamabad’s fines are lower than Karachi’s: compare e-challan in Karachi.
What happens if you don’t pay an Islamabad e-challan?
Police warned defaulters in September 2023 to pay or have their vehicles impounded, and face legal action (APP). In August 2026 alone, ITP impounded more than 7,000 vehicles and motorcycles for traffic violations, its own report says.
An Auditor General audit, reported by TechJuice in 2026, found 34,878 Safe City e-challans worth Rs 21.10 million unpaid. It also found no check that fines were cleared when a vehicle was transferred or its token tax paid. So an unpaid challan may not stop a transfer today, but it still shows as unpaid on the ITP page.
Which vehicles get Islamabad e-challans?
The audit said Safe City Islamabad is linked to the Islamabad and Punjab excise records, and had asked Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan for the same link (TechJuice). For challans from Punjab’s own Safe City cameras, see e-challan in Punjab.
ITP’s August 2026 report shows what it enforces most: more than 13,000 lane violations, 10,000 illegal parking cases, 5,000 wrong-way cases and 5,300 riders without helmets.
