Can I sell on Etsy from Pakistan?

Yes. Etsy’s help page “What is Etsy Payments?” names Pakistan among the countries where sellers “can sign up for Etsy Payments with a Payoneer Payment Account”. Etsy’s Payments Policy (updated 31 July 2026) says sellers resident in Pakistan must onboard this way.

This matters because Etsy won’t let you open a shop without Etsy Payments. In most countries where it isn’t available, Etsy says you can’t open a shop at all.

What do I need to open an Etsy shop in Pakistan?

  • an Etsy account, set up on a desktop browser (you can manage the shop on the app later)
  • a residential address in Pakistan
  • a Pakistani bank account, linked to Payoneer
  • a Payoneer account. New accounts ask for your personal details, a government-issued ID, a selfie and proof of address.
  • a valid credit, debit or reloadable prepaid card to pay Etsy’s bills

Etsy doesn’t require a business licence. You choose Individual if you sell as a person, or Business only if you have a registered legal entity with a taxpayer ID. To register a business first, see business structures in Pakistan.

How do I sign up as an Etsy seller from Pakistan?

  1. Create an Etsy account, then go to Etsy.com/sell on a computer and choose Get started.
  2. Set your shop language (you can’t change it later), shop country (Pakistan) and shop currency.
  3. Pick a shop name: 4 to 20 characters, no spaces or special characters, not already taken.
  4. Under payment settings, choose Pakistan as your bank location and Individual or Business for tax purposes.
  5. Enrol in Etsy Payments with Payoneer. You’ll be sent to sign in to Payoneer or create an account. Link your Pakistani bank account inside Payoneer.
  6. Add your card for Etsy bills, then pay the one-time set-up fee to open the shop.
  7. List your first items.

If you already have a shop: go to Shop Manager > Finances > Payment settings > Enroll now. Since 31 January 2024, Etsy suspends shops in Pakistan that haven’t enrolled until they do.

If you see “Looks like some details don’t match”, your Payoneer account probably has a bank account in a different country from your shop. A Pakistani shop needs a Pakistani bank account in Payoneer.

What is the Etsy seller account fee in Pakistan?

Etsy’s fees for a shop with a Pakistani bank account, as of October 2026:

Fee Amount When
Set-up fee Varies by country, charged in USD for Payoneer users Once, when opening the shop
Listing fee $0.20 per item Each listing, sold or not; renews every 4 months
Transaction fee 6.5% of the order total, including shipping and gift wrap Each sale
Payment processing fee 6.5% + $0.30 per order Each sale
Offsite Ads 15% of the order (12% once you reach $10,000 a year) Only on sales from Etsy’s outside ads

Etsy doesn’t publish the set-up fee amount for Pakistan. It shows the exact figure before you pay.

Shops under $10,000 in sales over the past 365 days can opt out of Offsite Ads. Once you pass $10,000, you can’t opt out and pay 12%.

For sellers outside the US, the transaction fee also applies to any tax included in your price. List items in the same currency as your Etsy Payment account to avoid Etsy’s currency conversion fee.

How do Etsy sellers in Pakistan get paid?

  1. A buyer pays by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Etsy gift card or another method Etsy offers. The money goes into your Etsy Payment account.
  2. Etsy deducts its fees. What’s left becomes available for deposit.
  3. Every Monday, Etsy sends your available balance to Payoneer in USD. Payoneer users can’t change this schedule.
  4. You withdraw from Payoneer to your Pakistani bank. Etsy says this typically takes 2 to 5 business days.

Payoneer charges its own fees. Its public page (updated 1 January 2026) lists 1.2% to 4% for withdrawals with currency conversion, and a $29.95 annual fee if you receive under $6,000 in 12 months. Payoneer says fees vary by country and are shown in your account, so check there.

Etsy can’t pay you through PayPal or to a card. Payoneer may ask you to verify your identity again later; Etsy asks you to finish within 30 days or your shop may be interrupted.

Do I pay tax on Etsy income in Pakistan?

Selling goods to buyers abroad counts as export. For tax year 2027, FBR’s withholding rate card sets tax on goods export proceeds at 1.25% under section 154.

We couldn’t confirm whether banks deduct this when Etsy money arrives through Payoneer, or treat it some other way. Ask your bank how it codes the inward remittance, and keep your Etsy and Payoneer statements for your return. Start with an NTN and see e-commerce exports from Pakistan.
