Pakistan Post tracking is on one official website, ep.gov.pk, where you type the article ID from your receipt into the Tracking Id box. UMS, UMS cash on delivery and EMS items have computerised tracking. International items carry a 13-character number such as two letters, nine digits and PK. Pakistan Post says it never asks for online payment and collects customs duty by hand, so payment links in SMS are scams. Complaints go to 051-111-111-117 or ep.gov.pk/complaints.asp.

Pakistan Post tracking works on one official website, ep.gov.pk: type the article ID from your booking receipt into the Tracking Id box and complete the CAPTCHA. It covers UMS, UMS cash on delivery (COD) and EMS items. Pakistan Post says any other tracking site or link isn’t its own, and that it never asks for online payment.

How do I track my Pakistan Post parcel?

Pakistan Post’s tracker is called EMTTS (Express Mail Track & Trace System).

  1. Find the article ID. It’s the article or receipt number from the booking receipt the post office gave the sender. If you’re the receiver, ask the sender or the online shop for it.
  2. Open ep.gov.pk. Type the address yourself rather than tapping a link in a text message.
  3. Enter the number in the Tracking Id box. The form rejects spaces, dashes and other special characters, so type letters and digits only.
  4. Complete the CAPTCHA and search.

Pakistan Post doesn’t publish a guide to what each status line means, and the tracker needs a CAPTCHA, so we couldn’t test sample numbers. If a status confuses you, call the helpline with the number.

Pakistan Post advises registering any parcel and any insured or value-payable item.

What does a Pakistan Post tracking number look like?

International items follow the Universal Postal Union’s S10 format: 13 characters.

Part Example Meaning
2 letters EE Service: E = EMS, R = registered letter, C = parcel, L = tracked letter, V = insured letter
8 digits 12345678 Serial number
1 digit 5 Check digit
2 letters PK Country of the post that booked it (PK = Pakistan)

So a Pakistan EMS item reads like EE123456785PK. Pakistan Post doesn’t publish the format of its domestic UMS or COD numbers; type exactly what’s on the receipt.

How do I track a COD parcel?

UMS-COD parcels are UMS items, so you track them the same way on ep.gov.pk. Pakistan Post’s COD page says the service runs at 226 UMS locations, takes parcels up to 30 kg and collects up to Rs 100,000 per parcel for the sender.

If you sell with COD, our best courier service in Pakistan guide compares Pakistan Post’s published COD fee (Rs 110 city to city for 250 g, from 1 October 2026) with private couriers.

How do I track an international parcel or EMS?

  • Sent from Pakistan: Pakistan Post’s International Tracking page links to the tracking site of each destination post, from the UK and USA to Saudi Arabia and China. Pick the country and enter the same number.
  • Coming to Pakistan: the number usually ends in the sending country’s code (CN for China, for example). Try it on ep.gov.pk once the parcel reaches Pakistan. Pakistan Post doesn’t say which foreign numbers its tracker shows, so if nothing appears, use the seller’s or the sending post’s tracker.

For orders from Temu, AliExpress or Shein, see Temu, AliExpress and Shein in Pakistan: the last leg may be a local carrier, so tracking can skip steps.

Do I have to pay customs on a parcel?

Pakistan Post says all international mail is open to customs inspection. Pakistan Customs sets the duty by the value of the goods, and Pakistan Post only collects it on Customs’ behalf.

Under section 19C of the Customs Act, goods sent by post or courier worth up to Rs 1,000 are free of duty and taxes. Above that, Customs can charge. To estimate the amount, see how to calculate customs duty.

Can I track my driving licence through Pakistan Post?

Not yet in one place. ARY News reported on 29 August 2026 that Punjab plans to connect the postal delivery of licence cards to the traffic police’s DLIMS portal, which now shows only processing and printing. Until then, DLIMS tells you only whether your card has been processed and printed. See driving licence in Punjab.

What if my parcel is stuck or returned?

Pakistan Post’s FAQ says an item with an incomplete or unreadable address goes to the Returned Letter Office. An item for an unknown addressee is redirected if a new address is known, or held for seven days before going back to the sender.

To complain, have the article or receipt number, booking office and date, and sender and receiver names ready, then:

  • call 051-111-111-117, or use the form at ep.gov.pk/complaints.asp
  • email [email protected]
  • or call your region’s complaint office, for example PMG Lahore 042-99213502, PMG Islamabad 051-9261908, PMG Rawalpindi 051-9270049, PMG Multan 061-9201104 or PMG Karachi 021-99250129

For a lost EMS item, complain within 30 days. Pakistan Post’s EMS page caps compensation for an established loss at 30 SDR for documents and 130 SDR for other items (SDR, Special Drawing Rights, is an IMF unit of account).

What does a Pakistan Post tracking number look like?

International items use the UPU's 13-character format: two letters, eight digits and a check digit, then a two-letter country code such as PK. EMS numbers start with E and registered letters with R. Pakistan Post doesn't publish its domestic UMS format.

Pakistan Post sent me an SMS asking me to pay customs or update my address. Is it real?
