Facebook monetization in Pakistan: which programmes are open, requirements and payouts
Facebook monetization in Pakistan: Stars is open with 500 followers, but Content Monetization ads and Subscriptions aren't. Requirements, payouts and tax.
As of October 2026, Facebook Stars is the one Meta creator programme that lists Pakistan: you need 500 followers for 30 days in a row, a Page or pro mode profile, and to be 18 or over. Pakistan isn't on Meta's 70-country list for Content Monetization ads, which replaced in-stream ads and Ads on Reels in August 2025, or its 47-country Subscriptions list. Meta says your bank must be in an eligible country too. Banks deduct 5% tax (filers) on creator platform income.
Facebook monetization in Pakistan works through one Meta programme, as of October 2026: Facebook Stars. Pakistan is on Meta’s Stars list, and you need 500 followers for 30 days in a row. Pakistan isn’t on Meta’s list for Content Monetization ads, the programme that replaced in-stream ads and Ads on Reels, or for Subscriptions. Brand deals, where a business pays you, sit outside these lists. Since July 2026 banks deduct 5% tax on creator platform income for filers.

Meta’s Content Monetization list includes India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, but not Pakistan. Urdu is on its list of supported languages. That doesn’t help a creator who lives in Pakistan, because the rule is about where you live, not the language you post in.
What are the Facebook Stars requirements in Pakistan?
Meta’s eligibility page asks for all of these:
500 followers for at least 30 consecutive days
age 18 or over
a Page or a profile in professional mode (an ordinary profile can’t earn)
live in a country where Stars is available: Pakistan is on the list
follow the Community Standards, Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetization Policies
agree to the Stars terms
Accounts that mainly post content focused on children can’t earn from Stars. Meta pays you based on the number of Stars you receive, once you finish payment setup. Stars was launched for Pakistani creators in December 2022, Digital Rights Monitor reported, and Meta said then it was open to all eligible creators in Pakistan.
Why can’t Pakistani pages get Content Monetization?
Because Meta’s rules tie it to your country. Its Partner Monetization Policies say you must reside in an eligible country where the product is available. The financial entities connected to your account must also be in an eligible country. Meta says you can lose monetization if either location changes to one that doesn’t qualify.
In-stream ads, Ads on Reels and the Performance Bonus Program ended on 31 August 2025. Eligible creators were invited to Content Monetization instead, which is invite-only. In-stream ads for Live also ended on 15 June 2026.
Meta also warns that real invites only arrive through the Facebook app, email, Meta Business Suite or the Professional dashboard. Don’t click “monetization invite” links sent in Messenger or by strangers.
What are the Facebook monetization requirements in 2026?
Every programme first needs you to pass Meta’s Partner Monetization Policies. In short:
at least 30 days of established presence on Facebook
public content on a Page, a pro mode profile, an Event or a Group
no Community Standards breaches, misinformation or clickbait
not a politician, political party or government agency
Then each programme adds its own rule: 500 followers for Stars, 5,000 for Subscriptions, and an invite for Content Monetization. Content Monetization also needs reels of at least 10 seconds and may not pay for boosted posts or content in an unsupported language.
How do I check Facebook monetization eligibility?
On a computer: open Meta Business Suite, click Monetization, then View Page eligibility. You’ll see the programmes you can join and those you can’t.
On a phone: open the Professional dashboard and tap Monetization. Eligible programmes show Ready to set up.
How does Facebook pay creators in Pakistan?
Meta’s payout setup offers four options: sign into your bank, link a bank account by hand, link PayPal, or link a debit card. PayPal isn’t available in Pakistan (PayPal’s country list, checked 16 October 2026), which leaves a bank account or a debit card. For a bank, Meta asks for the bank’s name and country, its SWIFT code, and your account number or IBAN.
Payout rule (Meta, Oct 2026)
Detail
Minimum balance outside the US
$100 for wire transfer, $25 for other methods
When you’re paid
Around the 21st of each month, for last month’s earnings
Without a payout account
Up to $500 per tool, then earnings stop
Deadline to finish setup
6 months, or the earnings are forfeited
Name check
Your name must match your tax ID
Outside the US and EU, Meta asks for an ID number issued by a government agency, such as a national ID or passport number. Meta’s pages don’t say which payout methods appear for Pakistan specifically, so check what the setup screen offers you.
How much tax is deducted on Facebook income in Pakistan?
Since 1 July 2026, section 154B makes your bank deduct tax on social media platform income paid to creators:
Who
Rate (Oct 2026)
Filer (on the Active Taxpayers List)
5%
Non-filer
10%
Profit (30 June 2026) reports that this covers Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, including money routed through payment providers. For residents the 5% is a minimum tax, so you still file a return. See freelancer tax in Pakistan and how to become a filer.
Can I earn from brand deals on Facebook in Pakistan?
Yes, because the brand pays you, not Meta. Meta’s Branded Content Policies say a post that features a business partner for money or free gifts must use the branded content tool, tagging the partner with their permission. Only accounts with access to that tool can post branded content. You agree the price and payment method with the brand, and a foreign brand’s payment reaches you like any payment from abroad.
Partly. Stars lists Pakistan, but Content Monetization ads and Subscriptions don't, on Meta's own country lists checked on 24 October 2026.
What are the requirements for Facebook monetization in Pakistan?
For Stars: 500 followers for at least 30 days in a row, age 18 or over, a Page or pro mode profile, living in a Stars country (Pakistan is one), and following Meta's monetization policies.
Can I use a foreign bank account to get Facebook ad earnings in Pakistan?
Meta's Partner Monetization Policies say you must live in an eligible country and the bank linked to your account must be in one too. A foreign account doesn't change where you live, and Meta says you can lose monetization if the locations don't qualify.
