All government taxes are charged on top.

How does the Askari annual fee waiver work?

On Classic, Gold and Platinum, you get 50% off the annual fee if you use 50% of your total credit limit within 2 months of the card being issued or renewed. Supplementary Classic, Gold, Platinum and World cards have the same rule. The basic World card has no waiver.

Our example: a Gold card with a Rs 2 lakh limit. Use Rs 1 lakh within 2 months and the fee drops from Rs 12,000 to Rs 6,000. The rule depends on your limit, not a fixed amount, so a higher limit means more spending to qualify.

MCB, for comparison, reverses the full fee on a fixed spend. Askari gives back only half.

How much does Askari charge for cash withdrawal on a credit card?

A cash advance costs Rs 1,500 or 3.5% of the amount, whichever is higher. Service charges of 3.30% a month (39.60% a year) then run on the cash.

Our calculation: on Rs 20,000, 3.5% is Rs 700, so you pay the Rs 1,500 minimum. The 3.5% only applies above about Rs 42,900.

Askari’s Cash for Card plan turns part of your limit into cash you repay in installments. It costs 3% a month (36% a year), plus a processing fee of Rs 1,500 or 3.75%, whichever is higher.

What are Askari’s other credit card charges?

Charge Fee (from 10 July 2026)
Late payment Rs 2,200 each time
Foreign currency and DCC transactions 4.85% of the amount
Extended Payment Plan (EPP) 3% a month (36% a year)
Flexible Credit Plan (FCP) 2% a month (24% a year)
Balance transfer (with or without installments) 2% a month (24% a year)
Processing: FCP, EPP, Cash for Card Rs 1,500 or 3.75%, whichever is higher
Processing: balance transfer Rs 1,200 or 3.2%, whichever is higher
Early termination of a plan Rs 1,500 or 5.5% of what’s left, whichever is higher
Chip maintenance fee Rs 1,200 (basic), Rs 700 (supplementary)
Bill or utility payment by card Rs 70 per payment
Limit enhancement Rs 1,200

The 4.85% foreign charge applies to every non-rupee transaction. It also applies to dynamic currency conversion, where a merchant outside Pakistan charges you in rupees. That is higher than MCB’s 4% and Faysal’s 4.5% on their cards. For installment plans at other banks, see credit card installment plans.

Which Askari credit card is best?

None is best for everyone. On Askari’s published terms:

  • World (Rs 25,000, no waiver) adds a second guest and lounges at selected airports on domestic travel. It also charges more markup (44.4% a year).

The lounges Askari lists are the Majestic lounge at Karachi and CIP lounges at Islamabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Sialkot, at Rs 1 a person per visit. World and Platinum also include business lounges at international airports. For how Askari compares with other banks’ lounge cards, see lounge access cards.
