Current repayment round

Pay by 26 Oct 2026

The Agriculture Department's 9 Oct 2026 press release says bills for the card's fourth round reach card holders by 15 October. Paying by 26 October enters you in a lucky draw for tractors, motorcycles and mobile phones.

How much loan does the Kissan Card give?

The limit has gone up since the card launched.

At launch Phase II (current poster)
Per acre Rs 30,000 Rs 30,000
Maximum per farmer Rs 150,000 a season (5 acres) Rs 360,000
Land owned 1 to 12.5 acres 1 to 25 acres
Cash withdrawal Not stated 30% of the loan
Interest None None

At Rs 30,000 an acre, you reach the Rs 360,000 cap at 12 acres, so a farmer with 20 acres still gets at most Rs 360,000. Taking 30% in cash on the full amount would be Rs 108,000.

In between, Dawn reported in May 2025 that the Punjab government had announced raising the limit from Rs 150,000 to Rs 300,000. The Nation reported in May 2025 that farmers could use 30% of the loan as cash and 25% for diesel.

Who is eligible for the Kissan Card?

The Punjab government’s scheme page (archive copy of October 2025) and the Phase-II poster set these conditions:

  • You own agricultural land in Punjab: 1 to 25 acres under Phase II (12.5 acres at launch).
  • Your land record is in the PLRA (Punjab Land Records Authority) system.
  • Your mobile SIM is registered on your own CNIC.
  • You pass checks with NADRA, PMD (which verifies your SIM registration) and the e-CIB credit bureau.

The scheme page says the loan can only be used to buy farm inputs such as fertiliser and seed. Land records come from PLRA; see our guide to checking your fard online in Punjab if you aren’t sure your land is on record.

How do I apply for the Kissan Card?

  1. Send the SMS. Type PKC, a space, then your 13-digit CNIC number, and send it to 8070. Use a SIM registered on your own CNIC.
  2. Wait for verification. Your land is checked against PLRA records, your CNIC with NADRA, your SIM registration, and your credit record with e-CIB.
  3. Get your card. Once you are verified, Bank of Punjab issues the Chief Minister Kissan Card.
  4. Buy inputs. Use the card at registered input dealers, and keep track of spending through the free transaction SMS alerts.

The steps are from the Punjab government’s scheme page, Internet Archive copy of October 2025. We found no official last date for new registrations. In July 2026 The Nation reported 900,000 cards issued, and Pakistan Today a target of one million by 31 August 2026; we found no later figure.

Where can I use the Kissan Card?

The Agriculture Department publishes district-wise lists of registered dealers for 36 districts, and a list of PSO filling pumps that accept the card. Both are linked from its Kissan Card page.

Most of the money goes on fertiliser. In July 2026 officials told The Nation that about 80% of Kissan Card loans had been used to buy fertiliser.

The card has also carried government payments. In May 2025 Aaj News reported Rs 5,000 an acre in wheat support paid to 600,000 farmers through the card.

How do I pay the Kissan Card bill?

One Kissan Card loan round

There is no interest, but the next loan is credited only after you pay. The department rewards on-time payers with lucky draws. In the third round, the 28 April 2026 draw gave 10 tractors, 10 Umrah tickets, 60 motorbikes and 60 mobile phones to farmers who paid by 25 April.

Is the Kissan Card still running in 2026?

Yes. As of October 2026 the card is in its fourth repayment round:

  • 16 Apr 2026: third-round bills opened, with lucky-draw deadlines of 25 April and 5 May.
  • 9 Oct 2026: fourth-round bills announced, due by 26 Oct 2026.

Punjab’s 2026-27 budget set aside Rs 6.75 billion for Phase II of the programme and Rs 2.47 billion for the Kissan Card initiative, APP reported in June 2026.

What is the Kissan Card helpline?

The Agriculture Department helpline is 0800-17000, open daily from 8am to 8pm. Bank of Punjab’s website blocked our requests on 17 October 2026, so we couldn’t confirm its Kissan Card number; the department’s notices send you to Bank of Punjab branches for payments.

Register only through the 8070 SMS code and government or Bank of Punjab channels. Many sites with “kissan card” in their name are not run by the government.

If you need finance beyond inputs, compare business loans and gold loans. For housing, Punjab’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar is also interest-free.
