Where DISCO bills are

The Ministry of Energy (Power Division) says you can view, print or download your bill there. IESCO, MEPCO and PESCO link their duplicate-bill buttons to their own pages on it. Checked 24 Oct 2026.

How do I check my electricity bill online?

All the government-owned distribution companies (DISCOs) put their bills on one portal run by PITC, the power sector’s IT company. The Power Division counts ten DISCOs, not counting K-Electric.

  1. Find your reference number. It’s printed on every bill. NEPRA’s consumer manual calls it “a dedicated number allotted to a consumer for identification”.
  2. Open your company’s bill page. Go to bill.pitc.com.pk and choose your DISCO.
  3. Enter the 14 digits. Type them without spaces or dashes. IESCO’s own lookup tool rejects anything that isn’t exactly 14 digits.
  4. View, download or print. Save the bill as a PDF or print it to pay at a bank.

PITC’s portal didn’t open from our connection on 24 October 2026, so we couldn’t test it ourselves. The steps come from the Power Division’s FAQ, NEPRA’s manual and the DISCOs’ own links.

We confirmed the IESCO, MEPCO and PESCO paths on those companies’ own websites. The other DISCO websites didn’t open for us, so pick your company on the portal’s front page. NEPRA’s November 2025 letter also lists HAZECO, the Hazara company in Abbottabad. We couldn’t find its bill page.

Where is the reference number on my bill?

NEPRA’s consumer manual (sent to the companies on 26 November 2025) lists what every bill must show. The ones you’ll use most:

  • Reference No.: the 14-digit number for checking the bill online.
  • Meter No.: your meter’s own number. It’s different from the reference number.
  • Units: what you used, with the present and previous readings and a photo of the meter.
  • Issue date and due date: the due date is within 15 days of the issue date.
  • Billing history: your past months’ units and amounts.

IESCO’s Search Reference Number page (iesco.com.pk/search-reference-number) has boxes for an old and a new reference number. It shows both numbers with the name and address on the connection.

Can I check my electricity bill by consumer number or meter number?

The “consumer number” people search for is the reference number. PITC’s Power Smart app also asks for a “consumer ID”. We found no official DISCO or PITC page that finds a bill by meter number, so keep the reference number from an old bill or a photo of it.

Is there an app to check my electricity bill?

App Who it’s for What it does
Power Smart (PITC) DISCO customers Add your consumer ID, see consumption, ask for a due date extension or installments
MEPCO Smart MEPCO Bill check, download and pay, bill estimator, tenant CNIC update, installments, complaints
IESCO Smart IESCO IESCO’s own app, linked from its home page
KE Live K-Electric View and download bills and duplicates, pay by card, submit your own meter reading

When the Prime Minister launched Power Smart in June 2025, APP reported that you can photograph your meter on the set date and the bill is made from that reading. In June 2026 LESCO, GEPCO and MEPCO started printing a new, simpler bill with a QR code for extra information and digital services, and IESCO was due to follow (APP).

How do I get a duplicate bill?

  • Online: your company’s page on bill.pitc.com.pk gives a printable copy.
  • At the office: NEPRA’s manual says your SDO, revenue officer or customer service centre can issue a duplicate bill on the same day. MEPCO’s FAQ says the same.
  • K-Electric: KE Live downloads duplicates as a PDF. KE’s WhatsApp service is 0348-0000118: save the number and send “HI”.

How do I check a K-Electric bill?

  1. Install KE Live. It’s K-Electric’s official app on the App Store and Google Play.
  2. Register. Use your mobile number, CNIC and basic details. KE sends an OTP.
  3. Add your account. Enter the 13-digit KE account number from your bill. You can link several accounts, such as home and a rented flat.
  4. View or pay. See the latest bill, duplicates and payment history, and pay by debit or credit card.

K-Electric’s website blocked our connection on 24 October 2026. These steps come from KE Live’s App Store listing (version of 6 August 2026). A 2020 Zameen guide says KE’s SMS number is 8119: send REG, a space and your account number to register.

How do I pay my electricity bill online?

NEPRA’s manual says bills are collected at commercial bank branches and post offices, online, by ATM or credit card, and at NADRA kiosks. The Power Division adds online platforms and bank transfers.

  • Bank app or internet banking: use the bill payment option and enter the reference number. Menu names differ by bank. 1LINK’s 1BILL network lets banks and non-bank members collect utility bills in apps and at counters. NBP’s schedule of charges for July to December 2026 lists utility bills in its app as free.
  • Bank counter or post office: take the printed bill to a commercial bank branch or post office.
  • KE Live: card payment, or automatic monthly payment from a saved card.

We couldn’t open JazzCash’s or Easypaisa’s websites on 24 October 2026 to confirm which electricity companies they take and what they charge. Compare with Easypaisa vs JazzCash and bank charges in Pakistan.

What if I pay late or the bill is wrong?

You get a clear 7 days from the day the bill is delivered, and a due date on a holiday moves to the next working day (NEPRA). After the due date the company adds a late payment surcharge and may disconnect you (Power Division).

  • Installments: ask your customer care centre, or use Power Smart or MEPCO Smart. Under NEPRA’s manual, there’s no markup if you pay the first installment by the due date. The rest carries 14% a year.
  • Wrong reading or tariff: go to your sub-division or customer service centre. For complaints, IESCO and PESCO list 118 by phone and 8118 by SMS.
  • Tenant? PITC’s CNIC registration portal (mnr.pitc.com.pk) lets you register the occupant’s name and CNIC against the reference number.
