AI Summary

A 9-inch brick boundary wall 7 ft high, on a concrete strip foundation, needs about 76 bricks, 0.38 bags of cement, 1.9 cft of sand and 0.9 cft of crush per running foot. At PBS September 2026 prices that is Rs 2,825 of materials a running foot in Lahore, Rs 2,480 in Karachi and Rs 3,049 in Islamabad, before plaster and labour. KP's government rate for the same wall, plastered and complete, is Rs 4,172 a running foot (2025), and a precast wall Rs 1,137.

A 9-inch brick boundary wall 7 ft high costs about Rs 2,825 a running foot in materials in Lahore at Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) prices for September 2026, before plaster and labour (our calculation). Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s government rate for the same wall, plastered and complete, is Rs 4,172 a running foot (2025). Per square foot of wall above ground, that puts the boundary wall cost in Pakistan at about Rs 404 for materials and Rs 596 complete.

No body publishes a boundary wall rate for private houses, so below we price one stated wall from published quantities and official prices, city by city, and compare blocks and precast.

What wall are we pricing?

Our example, not an engineer’s design:

  • a 9-inch brick wall, 7 ft above ground and 1.5 ft below
  • on a plain cement concrete (PCC) strip, 1:3:6, 2 ft wide and 6 inches thick
  • bricks laid in 1:6 cement-sand mortar
  • 1/2-inch plaster in 1:4 on both faces above ground
  • no pillars, plinth beam, coping, gate or paint

Seven feet is the most LDA allows, measured from plinth level, and the most CDA allows in Islamabad. CDA also sets a minimum of 3 ft.

How much material does a boundary wall need per running foot?

Material Per running foot How we got it
Bricks 76.5 8.5 sq ft of 9-inch wall x 9.0 bricks
Cement 0.38 bags 0.26 for mortar + 0.12 for the PCC
Sand 1.9 cft 1.45 for mortar + 0.46 for the PCC
Crush (bajri) 0.9 cft for the PCC

The quantities come from Avenir Developments’ calculators (reviewed Q4 2026): 9.0 bricks per sq ft of 9-inch wall, and 3 bags of cement and 17 cft of sand per 100 sq ft in 1:6 mortar. For the concrete we used Avenir’s dry-volume factor of 1.54 and 1.25 cft per bag. Avenir allows 5% to 10% for wastage, which isn’t included.

What is the boundary wall cost per square foot in Pakistan, by city?

Materials only (bricks, cement, sand and crush), no plaster, labour or wastage, at PBS city prices for September 2026. Per sq ft means per sq ft of the 7 ft of wall above ground:

City Per running foot Per sq ft of wall 5 marla (140 ft) 1 kanal (280 ft)
Lahore Rs 2,825 Rs 404 Rs 3.96 lakh Rs 7.91 lakh
Karachi Rs 2,480 Rs 354 Rs 3.47 lakh Rs 6.94 lakh
Islamabad Rs 3,049 Rs 436 Rs 4.27 lakh Rs 8.54 lakh
Rawalpindi Rs 3,014 Rs 431 Rs 4.22 lakh Rs 8.44 lakh
Gujranwala Rs 3,031 Rs 433 Rs 4.24 lakh Rs 8.49 lakh
Sialkot Rs 2,737 Rs 391 Rs 3.83 lakh Rs 7.66 lakh
Faisalabad Rs 2,527 Rs 361 Rs 3.54 lakh Rs 7.08 lakh
Peshawar Rs 2,529 Rs 361 Rs 3.54 lakh Rs 7.08 lakh
Bahawalpur Rs 2,181 Rs 312 Rs 3.05 lakh Rs 6.11 lakh
Multan Rs 2,120 Rs 303 Rs 2.97 lakh Rs 5.94 lakh
Quetta Rs 1,945 Rs 278 Rs 2.72 lakh Rs 5.44 lakh
Hyderabad Rs 1,872 Rs 267 Rs 2.62 lakh Rs 5.24 lakh

Bricks are two-thirds of the cost: in Lahore, Rs 1,900 of the Rs 2,825. The PBS prices are the same ones our construction material calculator uses.

The plot totals assume you wall all four sides of a standard DHA Lahore plot: 25 x 45 ft for 5 marla and 50 x 90 ft for 1 kanal. Where your house wall stands on the plot line, or a neighbour’s wall already exists, multiply the per-foot figure by your own length instead.

What does a complete boundary wall cost with labour?

For a complete price we used the one official schedule we could read: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Market Rate System (MRS), 1st half of 2025, the newest edition on the KP Finance Department’s website on 21 October 2026. It prices government works from Peshawar market rates and includes 23.5% for sales tax, income tax, overheads and the contractor’s profit.

Item, per running foot of our wall Quantity KP MRS 2025 rate
Digging the foundation, ordinary soil 4 cft Rs 41
PCC 1:3:6 1 cft Rs 359
Brickwork in foundation, 1:6 1.125 cft Rs 518
Brickwork above ground, 1:6 5.25 cft Rs 2,578
Plaster 1:4, 1/2 inch, both faces 14 sq ft Rs 676
Total Rs 4,172

Labour is Rs 1,314 of that. At this rate a 5 marla perimeter costs Rs 5.84 lakh and a 1 kanal perimeter Rs 11.68 lakh (our calculation). Lahore’s materials alone (Rs 2,825 at 2026 prices) come to 68% of the KP total. The KP rate is for Peshawar in 2025, not a Lahore quote.

Is a block or precast boundary wall cheaper?

On KP’s government rates, yes:

Wall, per running foot KP MRS 2025
9-inch brick, 7 ft, 1:4 mortar, not plastered Rs 2,695
8-inch hollow concrete block (16 x 8 x 8 inch), 7 ft, 1:4 mortar, not plastered Rs 1,097
Precast wall, complete: 6 x 6 inch columns 10 ft long, 2 x 12 inch planks, foundation concrete Rs 1,137

The precast rate includes digging, concrete and backfilling. PBS also records cement blocks (6 x 8 x 12 inch) in four cities in September 2026: Rs 9,847 per 100 in Islamabad, Rs 9,879 in Rawalpindi, Rs 5,902 in Karachi and Rs 5,000 in Peshawar. We found no maker price list for precast walls with a date.

Is the boundary wall in the grey structure rate?

Sometimes. Avenir’s grey structure rate leaves the boundary wall out, while Elegant Properties includes it with the gate frame. Check the written scope: see grey structure cost per sq ft.
