BISP press release No. 52, 6 Jul 2026
Taleemi Wazaif is only for children of active Benazir Kafaalat beneficiaries. If your household isn’t in Kafaalat, check that first: see our BISP 8171 guide for the PMT score and the household survey.
The child must be in the right age band for their level, according to BISP’s programme page:
BISP’s chairperson described the programme in January 2026 as support for children from primary up to Grade 12.
BISP’s programme page gives these amounts per child, per quarter:
| Level | Boy | Girl |
|---|---|---|
| Primary | Rs 1,500 | Rs 2,000 |
| Secondary | Rs 2,500 | Rs 3,000 |
| Higher secondary | Rs 3,500 | Rs 4,000 |
Girls also get a one-time Rs 3,000 bonus for completing primary school.
There is no online form on BISP’s site for Taleemi Wazaif. The mother enrols each child in person:
From the second quarter, your child is paid only if they attended at least 70% of the school or college days in that quarter.
If a child misses the 70% rule for three quarters in a row, BISP suspends the child from the programme. Missing it in a single quarter stops that quarter’s payment.
BISP’s official check is for your household, not for each child. Send your CNIC number by SMS to 8171, or enter it on 8171.bisp.gov.pk. That tells you whether your family is a Kafaalat beneficiary, which Taleemi Wazaif depends on.
We found no BISP page for checking a child’s Taleemi Wazaif status by CNIC, and no Taleemi Wazaif login. For a child’s enrolment or attendance, ask your BISP tehsil office or call the BISP helpline, 0800-26477.
BISP said in March 2026 that future payments go through digital wallets linked to a free SIM from a BISP office. By 6 Jul 2026, 9.7 million wallets had been opened and that quarter’s payments were going through them, BISP said. If you don’t have the free SIM yet, collect it from your nearest BISP office and take your own phone. Our BISP guide covers how withdrawals work.
BISP sends messages only from 8171. BISP repeated in January and March 2026 that messages from any other number are fake.
No. Taleemi Wazaif is a federal BISP programme. Punjab runs its own schemes: the CM Punjab Rashan Card for registered workers’ groceries, and the Himmat Card for persons with disabilities, which can’t be combined with BISP aid.
