# Solar system price in Pakistan: 3, 5 and 10 kW costed (as of Oct 2026)

As of October 2026, our estimate from dealer and market prices puts an installed on-grid solar system at about Rs 3.4 to 4.9 lakh for 3 kW, Rs 5.6 to 7.6 lakh for 5 kW and Rs 10.3 to 13.0 lakh for 10 kW. A lithium battery adds the most to a hybrid system: about Rs 1.95 to 3.5 lakh for 5 kWh. Panels cost Rs 26,000 to Rs 29,088 each for 585 W; homes up to 25 kW pay no NEPRA fee since April 2026.

That is our estimate, built from dealer panel and inverter prices dated 7 Oct 2026. A hybrid system with a lithium battery costs more: about **Rs 7.6 to 11.1 lakh for 5 kW** with a 5 kWh battery.

## How much does a solar system cost in Pakistan by size?

The table below adds up the parts for each size. It is our arithmetic, not a quote. Published prices from installers and price guides are shown next to it for comparison.

Published 5 kW on-grid prices run from Rs 5.5 lakh (Toolsfluent's figure for tier-2 panels and a budget inverter) to Rs 10 lakh. Our estimate sits in the lower half because it uses October 2026 dealer prices and leaves out installer margin.

## What goes into the price of a solar system?

A quote has four or five parts. This is how we priced each one.

How we built it:

- **Panels:** the 585 W tier-1 and A-grade panels on the JBMS dealer list ranged from Rs 26,000 (Sunpro) to Rs 29,088 (Canadian Solar TopCon bifacial) on 7 Oct 2026, including GST. Six panels make 3.51 kW, nine make 5.27 kW and 17 make 9.95 kW. See [solar panel prices in Pakistan](/solar/guides/solar-panel-price-pakistan/) for brand by brand rates.
- **Inverter:** the same dealer listed Inverex inverters at Rs 55,000 to Rs 120,000 for 1 to 3 kW, Rs 180,000 to Rs 250,000 for 5 kW and Rs 350,000 to Rs 450,000 for 10 kW and above. - **Structure, wiring and labour:** Toolsfluent's July 2026 breakdown gives each item for 3 kW and 10 kW. For 3 kW: structure Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000, wiring Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000, net meter paperwork Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000, labour Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000. It gives no 5 kW split, so we assumed Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh, between its 3 kW and 10 kW totals.

**Hybrid estimates may be low at the bottom end:** Hybrid inverters cost more than on-grid ones. Toolsfluent priced a 10 kW on-grid inverter at Rs 1.8 to 2.5 lakh and a 10 kW hybrid at Rs 2.8 to 3.5 lakh in July 2026. Our inverter figures come from one dealer list that doesn't say which type it is.

## What is the difference between on-grid and hybrid solar system prices?

An **on-grid** system has panels and an inverter, and sends spare power to your DISCO (your electricity distribution company). A **hybrid** system adds a battery and a hybrid inverter, so you pay for storage on top.

The battery is the big jump. A 5 kWh lithium battery cost about Rs 2.3 lakh in Karachi on 1 Jul 2026, according to ARY News. By 20 Sep 2026, Pakistan Connect reported 5 kWh batteries at Rs 1.95 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh and 16 kWh models at Rs 5.75 lakh to Rs 6.8 lakh, after drops of Rs 20,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

## Why do solar quotes differ so much?

These are the main reasons quotes for the same size differ:

- **Panel prices move fast.** In January 2026, Daily Pakistan reported 585 W panels rising from Rs 16,000 to 17,000 to Rs 20,000 to 21,000, with per-watt prices up from Rs 22 to Rs 33 in five months. By 1 Jul 2026, ARY News put panels at about Rs 45 per watt in Karachi. The JBMS prices of 7 Oct 2026 work out to about Rs 44 to Rs 50 per watt.
- **Panel grade.** Toolsfluent priced a 5 kW on-grid system with tier-1 panels at Rs 7 to 9 lakh, and with tier-2 panels and a budget inverter at Rs 5.5 to 7 lakh (Q2 2026).
- **Battery size.** Toolsfluent's 5 kW hybrid went from Rs 11 to 13 lakh with a 5 kWh battery to Rs 14 to 17 lakh with 10 kWh.
- **City, roof and paperwork.** Toolsfluent says prices vary by about 20% either way with brand mix, city, roof complexity and whether net metering is bundled. Hajvery Solar also lists mounting structure and installation location.
- **Monthly swings.** Toolsfluent says prices can shift 5% to 10% from month to month with the dollar rate and panel prices.

Sources also disagree with each other. Toolsfluent's July 2026 guide used panels at Rs 28 to Rs 33 per watt, well below the Rs 44 to Rs 50 per watt on the October 2026 dealer list. We used the newer dealer list.

## How much does net metering or net billing add to the cost?

New solar connections now get net billing under NEPRA's Prosumer Regulations 2026. You bear all interconnection costs, including the meter and any grid upgrades, according to Geo News on 10 Feb 2026. Spare power is bought back at the national average energy purchase price, which Geo put at about Rs 11 per unit, and your system can't be larger than your sanctioned load.

The rules first added a Rs 1,000 per kW fee. NEPRA dropped it for systems up to 25 kW on 28 Apr 2026, backdated to 9 Feb (Dawn), so only bigger systems still pay it once. We couldn't open NEPRA's website or Business Recorder's report to check these details against the original text.

Toolsfluent priced net meter and DISCO paperwork at Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 for 3 kW and Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 for 10 kW in July 2026. Ask whether a quote includes it. The full process is in our [net metering guide](/solar/guides/net-metering-pakistan/).

**Before you sign a quote:** Ask each installer to list panel brand and wattage, inverter model and type, battery size, structure, wiring, labour and net meter paperwork as separate lines. Then compare them with the parts table above.
