The best paint for a house in Pakistan depends on the surface, not the brand. ## Paint prices in Pakistan by brand (October 2026)

These are the prices on each brand's own online shop on 19 October 2026. Berger and Diamond show separate prices by region; we give the Punjab, KPK and Quetta prices. Brighto doesn't say which region its prices are for. The rows are our grouping, by price and the brand's description.

Diamond names its packs quarter, gallon and drummy but doesn't give the litres, so we haven't worked out its price per litre. Berger's shop showed most prices 2% to 10% below a crossed-out list price (for example Rs 5,540 against Rs 5,830 for Elegance 4 L). Dealers may charge differently. Dulux shows its products as "Only Available in Store" with no prices, and we found no online prices for Nippon or Master.

**Per litre, our calculation:** Brighto Wall Emulsion Rs 440, Berger Top Super Rs 514, Berger New SPD Rs 676, Brighto Super Mastic Aura Rs 1,350, Berger Elegance Rs 1,385. For exterior paint: Brighto Wall Shield Rs 883, Berger Weather Pro Rs 1,051, Berger VIP Weathercoat Rs 1,488.

## Is paint cheaper in Karachi or Lahore?

It depends on the brand. Diamond charges more in Karachi: Ace Weather Defender is Rs 6,305 a gallon there against Rs 4,686 in Punjab, and Overall Plasticoat Rs 3,200 against Rs 2,776. Berger's Sindh prices are sometimes lower: VIP Allrounder enamel is Rs 5,205 for 3.64 litres in Sindh against Rs 5,980 in Punjab.

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) tracks one paint, ICI synthetic enamel (3.64 litres). In September 2026 it averaged Rs 5,867 in Lahore, Rs 5,757 in Karachi, Rs 5,796 in Islamabad, Rs 6,310 in Multan and Rs 4,099 in Quetta.

## How much paint do I need?

Work out the wall area first: the length of all walls × the height, less doors and windows. Then use the coverage the brand states per litre per coat:

One square metre is 10.76 sq ft. **Two coats over 1,000 sq ft of wall need about 11.6 to 15.5 litres** at 12 to 16 m² a litre (our calculation). Berger gives a range, so plan with the low end of it.

PBS's average painter's wage in September 2026 was Rs 2,227 a day in Lahore, Rs 1,912 in Karachi, Rs 2,299 in Islamabad and Rs 1,520 in Multan.

**What we couldn't check:** Brands describe their paints as washable, stain-resistant or anti-fungal, but we found no independent test of these claims in Pakistan. Prices are online shop prices on one day, 19 October 2026; Diamond says its final price is confirmed when you order. Check the batch and the date on the tin.
