## Summary

Meezan Bank's July to December 2026 schedule of charges lists debit cards only, so there is no Meezan Bank credit card yet. Meezan told analysts in 2026 that a Charge Card is in soft launch and an Islamic Financing Card is in development, with a full launch expected in 2027. BankIslami's schedule also lists no credit card. The Islamic credit cards with published fees are Standard Chartered Saadiq Platinum (Rs 20,000 a year, up to 45% profit) and Faysal Islami Noor (Rs 6,500 to Rs 26,000, 43% to 45%).

## Key facts

- Meezan credit card: None listed (Jul–Dec 2026)
- Islamic cards with fees: SC Saadiq, Faysal Noor
- Annual fee range: Rs 6,500 to Rs 26,000
- Profit on unpaid balance: 43% to 45% a year

There is **no Meezan Bank credit card** to apply for. Meezan's schedule of charges for 1 July to 31 December 2026 lists only debit cards. In 2026 Meezan told analysts that a **Meezan Charge Card** is in soft launch, with a full launch expected in **2027**. If you want a Shariah-based credit card now, the two with published fees are **Standard Chartered Saadiq Platinum** and the **Faysal Islami Noor Card**.

**Islamic credit cards with published fees:** 2 (Standard Chartered Saadiq Mastercard Platinum and Faysal Islami Noor Card, from each bank's July to December 2026 documents. Meezan and BankIslami list debit cards only.)

## Does Meezan Bank have a credit card?

No, as of its July to December 2026 schedule of charges, which we read on 22 October 2026. The card section lists Visa, Mastercard and PayPak **debit** cards, from Classic (Rs 3,500 a year) to Visa Infinite (Rs 45,000 a year). There is no credit card, so there's no Meezan credit card limit, annual fee or online application yet.

Meezan is the largest Islamic bank by branches, with 1,150 as of 30 June 2026, according to the State Bank's Islamic Banking Bulletin. For its accounts and debit cards, see [Meezan Bank accounts](/money/guides/meezan-bank-accounts/).

## When will Meezan launch a credit card?

Meezan's management described two card products at its 2026 analyst briefing, TechJuice reported on 12 August 2026:

- **Meezan Charge Card:** in a soft launch.
- **Islamic Financing Card:** still being developed.

Both have Shariah approval, and Meezan expects a full commercial launch in **2027**, depending on finishing development and rollout. The bank said they will work differently from conventional credit cards. No fees, limits or eligibility rules had been published as of 22 October 2026.

**A charge card is not quite a credit card:** Meezan hasn't published the terms for either card, and the bank says they won't work like conventional credit cards. Read the terms when they launch before you compare them with the cards below.

## Does BankIslami have a credit card?

No. BankIslami's schedule of bank charges for 1 July to 31 December 2026 lists only debit cards: Classic, Gold, Titanium, Platinum, World and World Elite Debit Mastercard, plus PayPak. Annual fees run from **Rs 2,200** (PayPak) to **Rs 40,000** (World Elite).

## Which Islamic credit cards can I get in Pakistan?

We found two Islamic credit cards with published fees. Figures are from each bank's documents for July to December 2026.

| | Standard Chartered Saadiq Platinum | Faysal Islami Noor Card |
|---|---|---|
| Structure | Commodity Murabaha (the bank sells you a commodity, plastic resin) | Islamic card; the Key Facts Statement uses Musawamah terms |
| Annual fee (basic) | Rs 20,000 | Rs 6,500 (Velocity) to Rs 26,000 (World) |
| Supplementary card | Rs 9,000 | Rs 1,600 to Rs 12,500 |
| Fee waiver | First year reversed on Rs 2 lakh spend or 70% of your limit in 3 months | Reversed on Rs 20,000 to Rs 4 lakh spend in 60 days, but Rs 600 to Rs 2,500 is still charged |
| Profit on unpaid balance | Up to 45% a year (3.75% a month) | 43% to 45% a year, by job type |
| Maximum limit | Rs 60 lakh | Rs 70 lakh |
| Foreign transactions | Re 1 per US dollar plus up to 5% | 4.5% |
| Late payment | Rs 2,000 or 10% of minimum due, paid to charity | Rs 2,500 Musawamah charge |

**Choose Saadiq** if you want one card with cashback and lounges. Standard Chartered's page lists 5% cashback on dining, groceries and online shopping, up to Rs 1,000 a month, and access to 25+ international lounges.

**Choose Noor** if you want a lower fee. Velocity costs Rs 6,500 a year, and Faysal is a full Islamic bank with 900 branches (State Bank, June 2026).

For every Noor card type, see [Faysal Bank credit cards](/money/guides/faysal-bank-credit-cards/). For Saadiq next to Standard Chartered's other cards, see [Standard Chartered credit cards](/money/guides/standard-chartered-credit-cards/).

## How is an Islamic credit card different from a normal one?

The difference is in the contract behind the card:

- **Saadiq** uses Commodity Murabaha: the bank buys a commodity (plastic resin) and sells it to you at a profit. The bank may give a discount on profit if you pay within 51 days.
- **Noor** calls the cost of an unpaid balance "profit" and its late charge a "Musawamah" charge. Faysal blocks merchant types it treats as non-Shariah compliant, including bars, gambling, liquor stores, music stores and cinemas.
- **Late payment money:** Standard Chartered pays Saadiq late charges to charity under its Shariah Board's policy.

An Islamic card still costs money if you don't pay in full: 43% to 45% a year on these two. Compare that with conventional cards in our [credit cards compared](/money/guides/credit-cards-pakistan-compared/) table. For the wider differences, see [Islamic vs conventional banking](/money/guides/islamic-vs-conventional-banking/).

## What about Dubai Islamic Bank and other Islamic banks?

We couldn't check **Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan**: its website showed a bot check when we tried on 22 October 2026. Search results showed only its debit cards, so it isn't in the table.

**HBL Microfinance Bank**, a separate bank from HBL, plans PayPak credit cards in conventional and Islamic versions, Arab News reported. As of 29 September 2026, no application date, limits or charges had been announced.

**Tax on spending abroad:** Islamic cards carry the same advance income tax on payments abroad as other cards. FBR's rate card updated to 30 June 2026 sets it at 0.5% if you are on the Active Taxpayer List and 1% if you are not.
