## Summary

Individuals can't get their own ECIB report: SBP gives eCIB access only to member banks and lenders. Your credit report comes from SBP's two licensed private bureaus, Tasdeeq and DataCheck. Tasdeeq's app shows a free summary and sells full reports and a score. For individuals, defaults stay on eCIB for two years after settlement (from 1 July 2021) and on Tasdeeq for three. Errors are fixed through the lender that reported them, then the bureau, then SBP.

## Key facts

- Your ECIB report: Not available to individuals
- Where to get it: Tasdeeq or DataCheck (SBP-licensed)
- Defaults stay: 2 years after settlement on eCIB
- Fixing errors: Lender, then bureau, then SBP

**You can't download your own ECIB report.** SBP's electronic Credit Information Bureau (eCIB) is open only to member banks and lenders, and the report is confidential. To see your credit record, get a report from one of SBP's **two licensed private credit bureaus**, Tasdeeq or DataCheck. Tasdeeq's app shows a **free summary** and sells the full report and score. For individuals, a default stays on eCIB for **two years** after you settle it.

SBP's website blocks automated checks, so we read its eCIB FAQ and consumer booklets through Internet Archive copies, and checked them against bank pages and news reports.

## What is an ECIB report?

eCIB is SBP's database of borrowers, set up in December 1992. Banks and other lenders must report every borrower to it each month, by the 10th, **whatever the amount**. You can't ask your bank not to report you. Individuals are listed against their CNIC.

The report, called a credit information report (CIR), shows your loans and cards, positive and negative, as of a date. It gives no rating and doesn't label you a defaulter. Since the Credit Bureau Act of 24 August 2015, lenders must also share data with at least one private bureau.

## Can I check my ECIB report online?

No. SBP's own FAQ says the CIR "cannot be provided to borrowers": only member institutions can pull it, for internal use. A bank that checks your eCIB can tell you whether you were approved or refused, but it can't give you the report.

SBP points borrowers to the private bureaus instead. Its consumer booklet says you, or someone you authorise, can get your credit report from a licensed bureau, on payment of a prescribed fee. The two licensed bureaus are:

| Bureau | Company | How individuals get a report | Contact |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Tasdeeq** | Aequitas Information Services Limited, Lahore | Tasdeeq app on Google Play and the App Store | 042-111-900-900, 0308-8273337 |
| **DataCheck** | Data Check Limited, Karachi | Not published on a page we could open | +92-21-35642320-7 (listed by SBP) |

DataCheck's website blocked our checks on 18 October 2026, so we couldn't confirm how it handles requests from individuals or what it charges. Call before you go.

## How do I get my credit report and score from Tasdeeq?

1. **Download the Tasdeeq app** from Google Play or the App Store. The download is free.
2. **Sign up and verify your identity.** The app runs its own identity check before it shows any data.
3. **See your free summary.** It lists your active accounts, how many times you were overdue and your outstanding balance.
4. **Buy the full report if you need it.** The full credit information report covers your personal data, credit data, disputes and public record. The app sells single reports and subscriptions.

Tasdeeq's score is calculated from **5 years** of credit history reported by lenders, and the app shows repayment history for loans and cards over the past 12 months. Lenders send Tasdeeq the previous month's data within the first 10 days of each month, so its data is updated monthly.

We couldn't find the price of a full report or a subscription on Tasdeeq's website or app store listing. Check the price in the app before you pay. SBP also says a bureau must tell you the source of any entry on your report if you ask and pay a **Rs 100** fee.

## How long does a default stay on my credit report?

For individuals, eCIB keeps overdue payments, late payments, write-offs and waivers for **two years after settlement**. SBP doubled this from one year for defaults on or after **1 July 2021**, Dawn reported on 10 April 2021. Defaults before that date stay for one year.

Private bureaus keep their own record. Tasdeeq shows default history for individuals for **3 years** and bankruptcy for 5 years.

When you clear an overdue, the bank must update your record within **10 days** of settlement. Your account then shows as regular, but the history stays for the full period.

**Nobody can delete a default for a fee:** SECP warned in April 2025 that people on social media falsely claim they can remove loan default records for money. Only the lender that reported the data can correct it, and SECP says not to pay these agents.

## How do I fix a wrong entry on my report?

eCIB doesn't change a report because a borrower asks. Corrections can only come from the lender that reported the data, so start there.

- Keep your settlement letters, closure certificates, receipts and statements. You'll need them as proof.
- Once a bureau corrects your report, it must give you an updated copy **free of charge**.
- Tasdeeq's app has a complaints and disputes section, and its complaints email is complaints@tasdeeq.com.
- SBP won't take up a dispute that is already before a court.

SBP says lenders that report wrong data to eCIB face penal action.

## Can I get a loan with a bad ECIB report?

Possibly. SBP's rules don't ban banks from lending to someone with overdues or write-offs in eCIB. Each bank decides under its own policy, so a refusal from one bank doesn't stop you applying elsewhere.

A clean record matters when you [apply for a credit card](/money/guides/how-to-apply-for-credit-card/) or a [personal loan](/money/guides/personal-loan-pakistan/). Since November 2025, SECP also requires all non-bank lenders (NBFCs) to report to credit bureaus, so a late payment on a licensed [loan app](/money/guides/loan-apps-pakistan/) can also show on your record.

## Questions people ask

### Can I check my ECIB report online?

No. SBP gives eCIB access only to member banks and lenders, for their own use, and the report is confidential. Get your credit report from a licensed private bureau such as Tasdeeq instead.

### Is the ECIB report free online?

There's no free ECIB report for individuals. Tasdeeq's app shows a free summary of your active accounts, overdues and balances. A full report is paid: SBP calls it a prescribed fee.

For individuals, two years after you settle it, for defaults from 1 July 2021. Before that rule the period was one year. Tasdeeq shows default history for individuals for 3 years.

### What is the ECIB helpline number?

We found no eCIB helpline that gives borrowers their report. For disputes, go to your lender first, then the bureau (Tasdeeq: 042-111-900-900), then SBP at cpd.helpdesk@sbp.org.pk.

### How do I check my credit score in Pakistan?

Download the Tasdeeq app, sign up and verify your identity. It shows a credit score calculated from 5 years of credit history reported by lenders. eCIB itself gives no score or rating.
