# Askari Bank accounts: types, charges and how to open one

## Summary

Askari Bank's Zabardast Current Account opens with no deposit and has no minimum balance, and the Click Account, an Asaan Digital current account, opens only through Askari's account opening app. Ordinary Askari accounts have no minimum balance charge; Sahar Savings and Maximiser need Rs 100,000 or cost Rs 50 a month. Askari's January 2026 sheet showed 9.5% on PLS savings, below the 10% State Bank minimum since. Other banks' ATMs cost Rs 35.

For Askari Bank account opening, the simplest choice is the **Askari Zabardast Current Account**: it needs **no opening deposit and no minimum balance**, and comes with free Visa debit card issuance. If you'd rather not visit a branch, the **Askari Click Account** opens only through Askari's account opening app. Ordinary Askari current and savings accounts carry no minimum balance charge under the schedule effective 1 July 2026.

**Askari Zabardast Current Account:** Rs 0 to open, no minimum (Free Visa debit card issuance, first cheque book, Raast transfers and e-statements. Keep a Rs 25,000 monthly average for the debit card fee waiver, SMS alerts and accidental insurance up to Rs 2 million.)

Charges below are from Askari's schedule effective 1 July 2026, and account features from its pages, all as saved by the Wayback Machine between July and October 2026. The newest profit rates we could read are from January 2026, so ask the branch for today's rate.

Askari's schedule says regular current and savings accounts, Basic Bank Accounts and Asaan accounts have **no minimum balance limit and no service charges**. The Rs 50 monthly charge applies only to accounts with a set minimum average, such as Sahar Savings, Askari Special Deposit and Maximiser (Rs 100,000 each), and never to pension or dormant accounts.

## What is the Askari Bank saving account profit rate?

The newest Askari rates we could read are in its key fact statements dated **23 January 2026**: **9.5%** on PLS Saving, PLS Saving Asaan, Sahar Savings and Waqar. PLS and Asaan Saving pay twice a year; Sahar Savings and Waqar pay monthly.

That figure is out of date. Banks must pay individuals a minimum rate on rupee savings up to a Rs 1 crore monthly average, set 0.50% below the State Bank's floor rate. With the floor at 10.50% after the September 2026 policy meeting, the minimum is **10.00%**. The rule applies to every conventional bank, so ask the branch for Askari's current rate before you open a savings account.

## How do I open an Askari Bank account online?

Askari launched its **Digital Account Opening App** on 10 July 2024, alongside its digital onboarding web portal. It is on Android and iOS.

1. **Download the Askari Digital Account Opening app.** The Click Account can only be opened here.
2. **Scan your CNIC and take a live photo.** The app reads your card details and checks the photo is live.
3. **Verify your mobile number and finish biometric checks.** The app does contactless biometric verification and asks your mother's name and place of birth.
4. **Capture your signature and keep the tracking ID.** Under the State Bank's 2025 rules, the bank must decide within 2 working days of complete documents.

The **Click Account** has no deposit or minimum balance, a Rs 3 million credit limit and Rs 1 million of debits a month. It comes with a free first cheque book and PayPak Classic card if you ask for them, but no cross-border payments. You can hold only one Asaan account per bank. ## What are the Askari Bank account opening requirements?

Every bank must verify you through NADRA biometrics (finger, face or iris) before opening an account. Regular accounts can also need proof of income, such as your latest salary slip; some customers can give a self-declaration instead. Asaan accounts need the least: the **Sahar Asaan Current Account** for women opens with just a CNIC, Rs 100 and a one-page form.

## Which Askari Bank account suits women, children and businesses?

- **Sahar Asaan Current (women, 18 and above):** opens with Rs 100 and a CNIC, with free PayPak debit card issuance, free banker's cheques and free internet banking.
- **Little Champs Current (under 18):** run with a parent or legal guardian. It opens with **Rs 100**, allows Rs 25,000 a day from ATMs and Rs 100,000 a day in transfers. ## How do I find my Askari Bank IBAN?

Pakistani IBANs are 24 characters: **PK**, two check digits, a four-letter bank code and your account number padded to 16 digits with zeros on the left. The bank code is the first four letters of the SWIFT code. Askari's is **ASCMPKKA**, so its IBANs carry **ASCM**.
