# Shopify in Pakistan: plans, and payment gateways that work

## Summary

Shopify Payments isn't available in Pakistan, which is not among its 40 supported countries. Pakistani stores take cards through a third-party gateway. Safepay, Bank Alfalah's XPay app and PostEx's XPay app list Shopify integrations. Cash on delivery works as a manual payment with no Shopify transaction fee. Plans start at US$25 a month for Basic, or US$19 a month paid yearly. Shopify may add a transaction fee on third-party gateway orders, which is 2% on Basic on its pricing table.

**Shopify Payments is not available in Pakistan.** It works in 40 countries and Pakistan isn't one of them, so a Pakistani store needs a **third-party gateway** for cards and wallets. Safepay and two XPay apps (from Bank Alfalah and from PostEx) list Shopify integrations. Cash on delivery works as a manual payment. Plans start at **US$25 a month** (Basic).

## How much are Shopify plans in Pakistan?

Shopify's Pakistan pricing page shows these prices in US dollars, as of 8 October 2026:

New stores get a **3-day free trial** with no card, then **US$1 a month for 3 months** on most plans. There are **no setup fees**. Hosting, an SSL certificate and a free myshopify.com address come with every plan, and you can connect your own domain.

Two features in Shopify's comparison table need Shopify Payments, so a Pakistani store doesn't get them: showing prices in local currencies and accepting local payment methods through Shopify Markets.

## Does Shopify charge extra if I don't use Shopify Payments?

Yes, on gateway orders. Shopify charges a **third-party transaction fee** on every order paid through an outside gateway, on top of what the gateway charges. The rate depends on your plan.

Shopify's Pakistan pricing page doesn't print the rate. The plan comparison table Shopify shows in other countries lists:

Shopify's help centre says to check your rate on the pricing page or with Shopify Support. **Manual payments, including cash on delivery, carry no third-party transaction fee.**

## Which payment gateways work with Shopify in Pakistan?

These are the Pakistani options we could confirm on the provider's own page or the Shopify App Store, as of 8 October 2026:

Safepay describes itself as a regulated PSO/PSP (payment system operator / payment service provider). It also lists a WooCommerce plugin, which matters if you later move off Shopify.

**Not the PayFast you think:** The "Payfast" app in the Shopify App Store is made by a company in Cape Town, South Africa. It is not Pakistan's PayFast. We couldn't open Pakistan's PayFast site to check its Shopify support, and we found no official Shopify app for JazzCash or Easypaisa, only claims on vendor blogs.

## How do I add a payment gateway or COD to my Shopify store?

To set up COD, go to **Settings > Payments**, choose a manual payment method in the Payment providers section, add any instructions for customers, and activate it. "Cash on Delivery (COD)" is a reserved name, so you can't use it for a custom method.

## What tax applies to Shopify orders in Pakistan?

FBR's section 153(2A) covers goods ordered online through e-commerce platforms **including websites**, so it applies to a Shopify store as well as a marketplace. For e-stores, FBR says the acquiring bank withholds on online payments and the courier withholds on cash on delivery. As of the rate card updated to 30 June 2026:
